Teeth Whitening.

Brighten your smile safely and effectively.

Tooth discolouration is common and can happen for a range of reasons — from ageing and diet to underlying structural changes in the teeth. Whitening treatments can safely and noticeably improve the colour of your teeth, boosting both your confidence and overall appearance.

Tooth staining falls into two main categories:

  • Internal discolouration:
Caused by changes within the tooth, often due to acid exposure — either from the stomach or acidic food and drinks. This can wear down enamel and expose the darker dentine underneath.

  • External discolouration:
Comes from environmental or lifestyle factors such as coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and certain foods. As we age, the enamel naturally thins, making the yellowish dentine more visible.

What to Know About Whitening

  • Most whitening treatments use hydrogen peroxide to gently break down the stains on enamel and dentine, resulting in a lighter, brighter appearance.

While over-the-counter products are available, dentist-led treatments are safer, more controlled, and deliver more effective, longer-lasting results.

  • We offer both in-clinic and dentist-supervised take-home whitening options:

Professional In-Clinic Whitening- Whitening is applied carefully to avoid gum irritation and deliver noticeable results quickly. This method is ideal for patients seeking immediate improvements under professional care.

Custom Take-Home Kits- Custom-fitted whitening trays and professional-strength gel allow you to whiten your teeth comfortably at home, with a plan tailored to your needs.

Internal Bleaching- For teeth that have darkened after root canal treatment, a whitening agent can be placed inside the tooth over 2–4 weeks. This is often done ahead of cosmetic procedures like veneers or crowns.

  • Dental professionals are highly trained in the structure and function of the face — particularly the muscles, nerves, and bone around the mouth, jaw, and eyes. This detailed anatomical knowledge makes them uniquely equipped to administer facial injectables safely and effectively, both for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes.

  • Teeth whitening is a safe and effective option for most adults wanting to brighten their smile. However, in some cases, extra care or alternative treatments may be more appropriate to protect your oral health and ensure the best results.

You may not be a suitable candidate for whitening if you have:

    • Untreated tooth decay or broken teeth, which should be addressed before any cosmetic treatment

    • Staining caused by certain medications, such as tetracycline, which may not respond well to whitening

    • Active gum disease or inflammation, as whitening could worsen sensitivity or discomfort

    • Are under 14 years of age, as younger teeth are still developing

    • Are currently pregnant, in which case it’s best to delay treatment as a precaution

Before any whitening treatment, we’ll carry out a full oral health assessment to make sure it’s the right option for you. If whitening isn’t suitable, we can explore other solutions to help you achieve a smile you feel confident about — safely and comfortably.
