At Applecross Dentists, caring for young smiles starts early and continues right through the teenage years. While free dental care begins in childhood, the good news is that it carries on during high school with our Free Teen Dentistry service.

We believe good oral health habits should be built from the ground up. The teenage years are a crucial time to protect teeth and set up a lifetime of healthy smiles, which is why we’re proud to provide free dental care for teens from Year 9 until their 18th birthday.

Regular check-ups help us spot little issues before they turn into bigger problems, keeping teeth strong and healthy for the long term.

Please note, this programme doesn’t cover orthodontics like braces.

Learn more about Teens Free Dentistry:

- Free basic dental treatment for all students from Year 9 until their 18th birthday
- Provided by our contracted dentists
- Regular examinations
- X-rays (if required)
- Preventative care (fluoride treatments, fissure sealants)
- Root canals
- Fillings
- Extractions (excluding orthodontic extractions)
- Oral health education
- Restorative treatment
- New Zealand high school students from Year 9 through to the day before their 18th birthday
- Teenagers remain eligible even if they leave school to study elsewhere or enter the workforce
- Orthodontic treatment (braces and similar) is not covered
