Dental Hygienist Matamata
Regular care can keep your teeth strong, your mouth fresh, and your smile confident.
Dental cleanings and exams are two of the most basic yet important preventive treatments we provide at our office. Each time you visit our dental practice for a checkup, we will provide a professional teeth cleaning and dental exam to help your smile stay healthy.
We may utilize dental X-rays to further evaluate your smile and make certain that you receive the dental care you need. Regular dental cleanings and exams are essential in maintaining good oral health, preventing cavities and gum disease, and making sure that any damaging conditions are treated as early as possible.
As dental hygienists in Matamata, we recommend that you visit us every six months for a routine dental cleaning and exam. We may suggest more frequent visits if needed, and we also encourage you to contact us if you suffer from a dental emergency, pain or injury.

Fillings are used to repair teeth with minor damage or decay, restoring their shape and function. We offer both composite (tooth-coloured) and amalgam (metal) fillings. Composite fillings are popular for their natural look and strong, durable finish.
Treatment is completed in one visit. The damaged area is cleaned, filled, and shaped to match your tooth, then hardened for a lasting result.

You may not be aware that all teenagers are eligible for FREE dental care from age 13 until their 18th birthday.
Children in New Zealand who meet the eligibility criteria for publicly funded health and disability services are entitled to free basic oral health services from Year 9 until their 18th birthday. This excludes orthodontics, teeth whitening, specialist x-rays and dental hygienist appointments. Please refer to the Ministry of Health website for full terms and conditions.
Our team believe this initiative is extremely beneficial to young adults as it helps to detect and treat any potential dental problems before they escalate, often requiring costly, extensive treatment later in life. Furthermore this initiative encourages adolescents to develop a strong oral care routine. While they are young treatment is free to provide a solid foundation for maintaining a healthy smile later in life.
You’re welcome to enroll your child with us from age 12. -
Even if your teen isn’t showing signs of dental trouble, regular check-ups are still important — and here’s why:
Prevention is better (and cheaper) than cure. Routine care helps remove plaque and tartar, reducing the risk of more serious issues later on.
Catch problems early. A quick check-up now could uncover issues before they become painful (or expensive) to fix.
Book their FREE check-up today and set them up for a healthier (and more affordable) dental future.
