Dentures & Plates

Custom solutions that help you eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile with ease.

Teeth don’t always last forever — age, trauma, or decay can lead to tooth loss earlier than expected. Dentures are a removable solution for replacing missing teeth, designed to restore your smile and improve your ability to eat and speak.

Dentures: What to Know.

  • Full Dentures
Recommended when all natural teeth are missing.

    • Conventional dentures are fitted after the gums have fully healed.

    • Immediate dentures are placed straight after tooth removal, so you’re never without teeth. These may need adjustments as your mouth heals and changes shape.

    Partial Dentures
Used when some natural teeth remain. These removable dentures fill the gaps and function similarly to a bridge, helping restore bite function and appearance.

  • Caring for Your Dentures.

Even though dentures aren’t natural teeth, they still need daily care to stay clean and in good condition. You should brush them gently to remove food particles and plaque before taking them out for the night. After removal, place them in room temperature water or a denture cleaning solution to keep them from drying out or warping.

Avoid using hot water, as it can distort their shape. Handle your dentures carefully when cleaning or storing them — they can break if dropped. Never try to adjust or repair them yourself. If they start to feel uncomfortable, become loose, or cause irritation, make an appointment with your dentist for a professional adjustment.

Proper care will not only keep your dentures clean and fresh, but also help protect your mouth and gums, ensuring a more comfortable fit and better long-term results.

  • Getting used to dentures takes time. At first, they may feel bulky or unnatural, and you might feel like there’s not enough room for your tongue. It's also common for dentures to feel a bit loose while your mouth adjusts — this can affect your speech and eating in the early stages.

Some people experience irritation or develop ulcers where the denture rubs against the gum. This is normal at the beginning and can be easily managed by having your dentures adjusted. With regular wear, your mouth will begin to adapt and your dentures will start to feel more like natural teeth.

It’s important to remember that even the best-fitting dentures only provide around 25% of the chewing power of natural teeth. You may need to modify your diet initially and chew slowly until you feel confident. Over time, with practice and patience, speaking and eating will become easier and more natural.
